Divergence
Greg Daly & John Daly
April/May 2024
Malvern Artists’ Society Gallery, 1297 High Street, Malvern Victoria
It is tempting to think that after 30 years of working together, the work of Greg Daly and John Daly would possess a similarity of style. At first glance there seems to be very little connection between their work, as though the two have travelled along parallel paths, one looking to the Sky for inspiration, the other at the Earth. However, looking deeper at their practices, you start to see the link. The familial enthusiasm for creativity and exploration, that has passed from one generation to another. Both artists relish the opportunity for creative discoveries, are sensitive to the smallest hints at new possibilities and are willing to diverge from their paths to explore both well-worn and untrodden creative landscapes.
