BARRY SINGLETON
I work with glaze on glaze application by pouring in conjunction with wax resist. It is proving quite a challenge but the results are generally satisfactory. The learning curve is steep, however I feel it is worth the effort.
Born Ballarat, Victoria. Initial training, Ballarat School of Mines and R.M.I.T., Diploma of Sculpture, 1954-59 Residency: Hashima Kama Pottery Kurashiki with Master Potter Katsu Yasu Ogawara, Japan, 1976-77. Career Highlights: Retrospective Exhibition, Castlemaine Art Gallery & Historical Museum, 2013; Arts Advisor for Ceramic Collections, Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum, and Ballarat Art Gallery. Collections include: Meat Industries Employees Superannuation Fund Collection; Ballarat Fine Art Gallery; Bendigo Art Gallery; Castlemaine Art Gallery & Historical Museum; Shepparton Art Museum; Gippsland Art Gallery, Sale; Ceramics Victoria; Myer Bicentennial Collection for Practising Potters and numerous private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
